Jared Belnap is president and chief executive officer of Mazuma. He began his career in the leasing industry in 1998 at Matrix Funding Corporation as an account executive and closed more than $30 million in new lease originations over his first three years. He was promoted to senior sales manager in 2001 and soon after to Vice President of Sales in 2002. Ultimately, he led his team to the top producing group in lease originations within the company and was offered the executive vice president position prior to his departure. During his tenure in the leasing industry Jared has personally closed over $250MM in lease transactions and has garnered extensive experience in credit, syndication, sales, legal, documentation, and executive management.
Jared started Mazuma as a co-founder and private investor and served as vice president of sales/corporate secretary through December 2007. His performance and experience have been invaluable in the formation and implementation of Mazuma’s infrastructure, website development, marketing, documentation, sales and sales management, formation of key relationships and other important functions within Mazuma’s framework.

Michael Smith is a director and private investor to the Company. He was the founder of Seaworthy Investments, LLC, and general partner of the Outrigger Funds, LP, a private hedge fund. Mr. Smith was formerly the founder of Harbor Capital Partners, LLC, and general partner of Harbor Real Asset Fund, LP. Michael helped grow the company’s real estate bridge loan portfolio and generated returns greater than 50% above benchmark indices.
Michael has a best-selling video “Effective Short Selling: Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets” and was educated at Brigham Young University in Humanities with an emphasis in English. He has participated in the university’s Baccalaureate and Masters English programs.
Previously, Michael founded software company Ten Bagger, Inc., publishers of investment software BigEasy investor voted “Best of the Web” by Forbes Magazine for Technical Analysis and Charting. After substantially growing their user base to more than 160 countries, Michael secured an acquisition agreement to merge their company with Ameritrade Holdings, Inc., in 2000. Ameritrade now markets BigEasy Investor under the brand Ameritrade Advanced Analyzer.

Paul is chief operating officer and private investor to the Company. He was co-founder and CTO of Seaworthy Investments, the general partner and manager of a family of hedge funds known as Outrigger Funds. As CTO, Mr. Pearson was responsible for all technology aspects of the fund’s management. Proprietary software and tools developed by Mr. Pearson have provided the foundation for investment returns more than doubling market averages since 2004. Mr. Pearson also served as fund manager and a trading advisor to the Outrigger funds.
Previously Mr. Pearson led development for Ameritrade Holding, Inc. as the senior architect over Advanced Analyzer: a decision support tool for private and institutional investors offering technical and fundamental analysis and streaming real-time data. Mr. Pearson was also a key member of Ameritrade’s core architecture and infrastructure team. Prior to Ameritrade, Mr. Pearson was a senior software architect for Folio Corporation, publishers of text retrieval search engine software. Mr. Pearson has a BS in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Douglas Petty is executive vice president of credit and syndication and corporate secretary to Mazuma and has been in the equipment leasing and banking industries for over 30 years. Prior to assuming responsibilities at Mazuma he served as the chief credit officer at Applied Financial, LLC. He has managed credit and syndication departments in companies such as Greyhound Capital Corporation, Bell Atlantic Systems Leasing, Matrix Funding Corporation, and Applied Financial, LLC.
In the banking industry, Doug worked at First Interstate Bank of Arizona in the International Lending division, and at First Security Bank of Utah in both commercial and installment lending. He received a Master’s of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Phoenix, Arizona.

Nancy Eggan is executive vice president of operations and documentation and has over 30 years of experience in the leasing industry. Prior to assuming responsibilities at Mazuma she served as vice president of operations/documentation at Applied Financial, LLC and has worked for other companies such as Matrix Funding Corporation, Cottonwood Thrift and Loan, and FMA Leasing Company. In addition to her extensive experience in the lease and loan documentation of equipment such as computer hardware and software, material handling, furniture and fixtures, helicopters, mining equipment and heavy machinery, she is well versed in all facets of daily operations. Her experience and input in other departments includes accounting, credit analysis/syndication, remarketing, re-sale of used equipment, asset tracking, and information services.

Matt Burrows is executive vice president of sales. After joining Mazuma Capital in early 2006 as account executive, Matt’s talents were quickly recognized and he was promoted to manager, vice president, and now serves as Mazuma’s executive vice president of sales.
He attended school at Snow College and Southern Utah University. He played strong safety and linebacker on the football teams at both schools.
After college, he completed NASD series 6, 63, & 65. As a registered representative of Washington Square Securities, he worked as a financial advisor to over 5,000 employees within the largest PEO in the state of Utah. Matt parlayed his experience in sales to become one of the top producing distributors with a world wide producer of health products.

Buddy R. Zarbock is vice president of vendor programs. He has served as account executive, marketing manager. Mr. Zarbock has been instrumental in sales, sales development, vendor relations, and key strategic projects. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Utah in Business and a M.B.A. from Westminster College. He started his career with IBM. Mr. Zarbock then joined the Plumbers Supply Company (PSC) as sales manager and owner. During his career there, PSC became one of the largest independent plumbing supply wholesalers in the U.S. He was heavily involved with the American Supplyhouse Association and their national executive team. PSC was sold to Wolseley (WOS) Company, the world’s largest plumbing supply wholesaler. As a Market Manager for Ferguson, a WOS subsidiary, he opened several profitable branches.

Richard is Chief Financial Officer of Mazuma. Prior to joining Mazuma, Beynon was chief financial officer for hedge fund complex Outrigger Funds where he streamlined expenditures by optimizing monthly trade reconciliations and partnership accounting and coordinated annual financial and regulatory audits and compliance requirements. Before his tenure at Outrigger Funds, as principal of his eponymously named professional firm, Beynon successfully turned around a distressed company by restructuring its debt and properly positioned the company for a fruitful acquisition.
Beynon received a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Utah and a master’s of business administration degree at Westminster College’s Gore School of Business where he was published in the school’s business journal.
